Frequently Asked Questions

Are sliding patio doors damage proof?

If the Sliding Patio doors are misused, damage can occur. If the door is closed with force or slammed, the doors could bounce back from the frame and damage the mechanism.

How many sliding door panels should I have?

The number of sliding panels is down to personal choice and also building restrictions. We can discuss the pro’s and con’s to each panel number and overall door design.

What is best, a Sliding Door or a Folding Door?

This depends on your home and personal requirements. Generally, if you have a large garden, countryside or views then the sliding doors are a better choice because they have less PVC and framework. If you have a smaller space and want to connect the outside with the inside, then Bi-Folding Doors may be a better option.

What is the difference between an inline / lift and slide door?

An inline sliding door has the glass panels sliding within the frame and tracks. They slide to the left or the right depending on the tracks used and are available in up to 6 sliding panels. The lift and slide doors have the sliding panels positioned behind the frame. The door handle is rotated and raises your door away from the frame to be able to slide. The lift and slide doors can tilt or lift ventilation, they have more locking positions and more flexibility.
